My head said, "Never again"
My heart told me "Try one more time."

A promise made
You said you would never leave.

Secrets revealed
Dreams spoken
.. Time wasted

I loved to make you laugh
To bring you up when you were down
To help quiet your demons
To make you feel safe when you were scared
..Small things I had once treasured.

The telephone no longer rings
No messages left
No more notes to say Hi
My life is once again silent
Loneliness again my comforter.

Where are you now?
Where did you go ?
What did I do wrong?

You have moved on
Making new friends in your journey
Old friends, used and discarded

Just a little while longer..
And your new friends will be left behind.
